If you like good music, it is more than likely you and I will get along. I like to compare myself to an iPod Shuffle. I continuously have different (sometimes random) songs in my head, so I’m using this to share where my head/shuffle is at from time to time. So, call me crazy - but this is My Shuffle. Also, maybe some quotes and pictures...Let's see where this goes.

That’s Some Dream - Good Old War

So this is a song I posted to my Facebook awhile back, so I thought it was time I started paying attention to my Tumblr again. Check out this song - it’s awesome. And yes - the lead singer looks like Charlie from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It’s uncanny.

A couple of weeks ago, my family and I journeyed to Rome to celebrate Easter with the Pope. In the week we were there we made sure to visit the many different historical sights throughout Rome; the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, St. Peter’s (The Vatican), Roman Forum, Piazza Navona…to name a few.

I probably took about 300 pictures along the way, but i also wanted to have some fun and avoid the typical tourist “let me just take a picture to prove I was here” picture - although, I’ll be honest, the majority fall in that category.

That said, I got a little silly with a couple pics and decided to “heelclick” through Rome. Here is a series of photos of me heelclicking at multiple destinations in the city.

It was really fun and I’m sure rather hiliarious for people to watch as sometimes it took more than one attempt to capture the pic. Hope you enjoy!

Kill the Director - The Wombats

This is one of those songs that make me wish I was in a band. I want to play it and dance around stage with my guitar. Also, I think some of the lyrics are pretty relatable.

“I’ve met someone who makes me feel seasick. Oh, what a skill to have. Oh, what a skill to have so many skills that make her distinctive. They’re not mine to have. No, they’re not mine”

Also, for the emo side of me.

“Here’s another song about a gender I’ll never understand.”

Boats and Trains - Stornoway

Life is a funny thing. It’s full of twists and turns, but it’s amazing how you can always find a song that relates to that specific situation. Here’s one of those songs.

"She tells me her favorite song and I say “yeah, that’s a good one."

- Lyrics from “John Lennon” by Arkells

Skinny Love (Bon Iver Cover) - Birdy

I love good music. That’s all I can say when I hear this cover of Skinny Love. I dig Bon Iver’s version, but this Birdy girl has an amazing voice (one that can haunt you in the best way possible). Two days ago, I listened to Bon Iver’s verison at work all day and I think tomorrow it will be Birdy’s verision on repeat. Thanks to Katie Cooper for this one!

Here’s the link the Bon Iver’s verision (still amazing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrMmr1oMPGA

She’s Got You High - Mumm-ra

This song is from the soundtrack of 500 Days of Summer and makes me wish that I had a soundtrack to play behind my everyday life. I sometimes pretend that the music playing via my iPhone while I walk through the city is my soundtrack and that other people can hear it. Ya know? Like how movies always have music in the background?! Anyways, this song just verifies that I need to see 500 Days of Summer. Don’t hate, but I’ve been slackin’ in the movie department. Gotta step my game up.

"Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts."

- Albert Einstein

Heart of the City - Arkells

This is a “post-entire-lyrics-worthy” song for me. Particularly, “In the heart of the city, good hearts will break. Is this a test to see how much we can take?”

Full lyrics

We stood. In an empty house.
With bottles in our hands against the wall
On the last night of the year,
the lights slowly started to fall
And you say, “this could happen for a reason”
How can you not have any faith
The beauty that surrounds us
it didn’t happen by mistake

In the heart of the city
Good hearts will break
Is this a test to see
How much we can take

You say you say that there’s an explanation
Oh, but it’s hard to see
I look to find salvation
In something more concrete
Because if, for the final destination
Is there either way
But should I receive an invitation
When it calls my name

In the heart of the city
Good hearts will break
Is this a test to see
How much we can take

In the heart of the city
My heart will break
Is this a test to see
How much I can take

In the heart of the city
Good hearts will break
Is this a test to see
How much we can take

Africa - Toto

Whenever anyone says “Africa” I immediately start playing this tune in my head. My friends and I would always blast this in college for a good laugh  (why? I don’t know) and a friend of mine thinks this is a great karaoke song - I have to agree with her. “I bless the rains down in Africa”
